I have been saying for over a decade that we are on the
brink.
Once a society puts material comfort above controlling its
borders, and entertainment
above education, it is done. Ask the Romans.
If a society
doesn't educate its children for a long enough period of time, there is no
one left to do
the educating. What followed last time was 1,000 years of the Dark Ages.
It is hard to
find a future right now that doesn't come out that way.
We don't educate our kids -
haven't for about two generations, now - or as long as the
teachers' unions have held sway. We
don't control our borders.
More people vote for American Idol than for President.
Convince me that the Dark Ages aren't next, and give me your rationale as to why not?
